Preservation and Archiving

The Journal of Water Engineering and Management (JWEAM) is committed to ensuring the long-term accessibility, integrity, and availability of its published scholarly content. The journal maintains mechanisms for online archiving, digital preservation, persistent identification, backup, and recovery of its published record.

Online Journal Archive

All published issues and articles of JWEAM are maintained in the journal's online archive through its Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform. The archive provides continuous access to the journal's publication record from 2020 onwards, including article metadata and full-text files.

Published articles remain accessible through the journal website irrespective of their year or issue of publication.

Digital Preservation

JWEAM participates in the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN) through its OJS platform. The journal is recognized by the PKP Preservation Network for content deposit, enabling its published scholarly content to be deposited in a distributed preservation network for long-term preservation.

The PKP Preservation Network provides a distributed preservation mechanism designed to safeguard scholarly journal content against potential loss and support the continued availability of the scholarly record over time.

JWEAM periodically monitors the status of its preservation deposits and maintains its participation in the network as part of its long-term digital preservation strategy.

Backup and Continuity

In addition to external preservation arrangements, JWEAM maintains its journal content, publication metadata, and associated digital files within its OJS-based publishing system. Appropriate backup and maintenance procedures support recovery and continuity of access in the event of technical failure or data loss.

Persistent Identification

JWEAM assigns Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) to published articles to provide persistent identification and facilitate reliable discovery, citation, linking, and access to its scholarly content.

Long-Term Accessibility

Through its online journal archive, OJS-based publishing infrastructure, persistent identifiers, backup arrangements, and participation in the PKP Preservation Network, JWEAM seeks to ensure that its published scholarly record remains accessible and preserved over the long term.

The journal periodically reviews its digital preservation arrangements and may adopt additional recognized preservation services or technologies as appropriate.
