The Journal of Water Engineering and Management (JWEAM) is a fully open-access journal. Articles published under the journal's current open-access licensing policy, effective from 2024 onwards, are freely available immediately upon publication and are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).

Articles published from 2024 onwards are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0). This license allows readers to copy, redistribute, remix, transform, and build upon the work for any purpose, including commercially, provided appropriate attribution is given to the original author(s) and source.
Articles published prior to 2024 remain subject to the copyright and licensing terms applicable at the time of their publication.
Author Rights
Authors retain copyright of their work and grant the journal the right to publish. Authors are allowed to share their work freely.
User Rights and Reuse
Under CC BY 4.0:
Users can redistribute the work in any medium or format.
Users can adapt and build upon the work.
Attribution must be given in the form specified by the author or journal (usually author names and journal reference).
Metadata and Accessibility
JWEAM ensures that open access license information is embedded in all article metadata, enabling discoverability in indexing services and repositories.
Licensing Policy Effective Date
The Journal of Water Engineering and Management (JWEAM) adopted its current open-access licensing policy effective from 2024. Articles published from 2024 onwards are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), with copyright retained by the author(s).
Articles published prior to 2024 remain subject to the copyright and licensing terms applicable at the time of their publication. The current CC BY 4.0 licence does not apply retrospectively to such articles unless explicitly stated on the individual article.
Self-Archiving and Repository Deposit
Authors may deposit the submitted, accepted, and published versions of their articles in institutional or subject-based scholarly repositories without an embargo, subject to the copyright and licensing terms applicable to the article. For the published Version of Record, authors should provide the complete citation and DOI/link to the article on the JWEAM website.
