Ethical Policies

The Journal of Water Engineering and Management (JWEAM) is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics in the review and publication of all manuscripts. The journal expects authors, reviewers, editors, and the publisher to adhere to ethical principles that promote integrity, transparency, and accountability in scholarly publishing.

JWEAM follows the ethical principles and best-practice guidelines recommended by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), which guides all aspects of publication ethics, including authorship, peer review, conflicts of interest, plagiarism, data integrity, and corrections or retractions.

The journal is firmly committed to maintaining the integrity of the peer-review process and the quality of published scientific work. JWEAM intends to aligns its editorial policies and procedures with COPE standards.

All authors submitting manuscripts to JWEAM are expected to:

Submit original and unpublished work

Avoid plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, and inappropriate image manipulation

Properly acknowledge the contributions of others

Disclose any conflicts of interest and sources of funding

Comply with ethical standards relevant to their research

Editors and reviewers are required to maintain confidentiality, avoid conflicts of interest, and conduct the peer-review process in a fair, unbiased, and timely manner. Any suspected cases of ethical misconduct will be handled in accordance with COPE-recommended procedures, and appropriate actions, including rejection, correction, or retraction, will be taken where necessary.
