Article Processing Charges (APC)

The Journal of Water Engineering and Management (JWEAM) is an open-access, peer-reviewed journal. To support the costs associated with editorial and manuscript processing, peer-review management, online publication, hosting, digital infrastructure, and long-term preservation, an Article Processing Charge (APC) is applicable only after a manuscript has been formally accepted for publication.

The applicable APC is ₹4,000 for manuscripts where the corresponding author is affiliated with an institution in India, and USD 100 where the corresponding author is affiliated with an institution outside India.

There are no submission charges. Authors are not required to make any payment at the time of manuscript submission or during peer review. The APC becomes payable only after the manuscript has been formally accepted for publication.

Payment of the APC has no influence on the editorial evaluation, peer-review process, or decision regarding acceptance of a manuscript. The journal's publishing operations are primarily supported through Article Processing Charges. Revenue considerations do not influence editorial or peer-review decisions.

APC Waiver and Discount Policy

JWEAM is committed to promoting inclusive and equitable dissemination of scientific knowledge. Authors from low-income and lower-middle-income economies, as classified by the World Bank, may request a full or partial waiver of the Article Processing Charge (APC). The current World Bank income classifications are available through the World Bank Country and Lending Groups list. Waiver or discount requests should be submitted at the time of manuscript submission by stating the request in the cover letter along with a brief justification.

Requests for APC waivers or discounts are considered independently of the editorial and peer-review process. The ability or inability of an author to pay the APC does not influence the editorial evaluation or publication decision. Waiver and discount requests are considered on a case-by-case basis, taking into account the author's country of affiliation, availability of institutional or research funding, and relevant financial circumstances. The journal encourages submissions from researchers across all regions and seeks to minimize financial barriers to the dissemination of high-quality research.
